March for Life, Washington
January 17, 2012
January 17, 2012. Noon.
Protesters had been trickling in for the past hour in scattered patches, much like the falling snow. Minutes before the rally began, the final wave marched to the steps of the legislative building. They amounted to more than 500.
“Hay! Ho! Roe v. Wade has got to go!” the protestors said.
One woman shouted “stay” instead of “go”. “Stay out of my uterus,” she said.
Priests, lawmakers and citizens spoke at the rally, while protestors carried signs of all sorts. “Abortion stops a beating heart” and “Defend Life” were the most popular. Many had the names of churches from across the state. Behind the stage, a few protestors held boards with pictures of aborted fetuses at 10 weeks. Above each picture was the word “Choice” in quotes.
